Atrás del personaje que cada tanguero muestra a la comunidad hay un mambo, y esa mezcla de locuras individuales es lo que termina construyendo el tango, baile social. Muchos van buscando algo externo para llenar el vacío que está también dentro de nosotros, pero al final hay que darse cuenta de la soledad que inevitablemente existe aún en el abrazo compartido y hacerse cargo de lo que es uno mismo.
La obra sigue a una tanguera, arrancando con las preparativas en casa y llegando a la milonga donde se encuentran con varios bailarines, representado por màscaras. Que pasa cuando nos abrazamos a alguien para bailar un tango unico y irrepetible? Con un comportamiento diferente con cada màscara, la autora Delia Hou refleja el viaje interior que atravesó en el tango después de entregarse al corriente del ambiente tanguero por 7 años. Aunque cada tanguero construye un personaje para presentar al mundo exterior, frente de la màscara del otro, inevitablemente termina proyectando sus propios conflictos internos y deseos al otro, como la imposibilidad de escapar la propia sombra.

Hidden behind the facade of each tanguero´s public personality are one´s idiosyncracies, and it is this mix of individual insanities that ends up producing the tango, a social dance. Many go to the milonga looking for something external to fill the void in each of us, but in the end, one has to accept the solitude that inevitably exists even within the shared embrace, and deal with who one truly is.
This piece follows a tanguera, starting with the preparations at home and arriving at the milonga where she encounters several dancers, represented by masks. What happens when we embrace someone to dance an unique and unrepeatable tango? With each mask inspiring a different behavior, the author Delia Hou reflects on the path that she travelled in the tango after immersing herself in the flow of the community for 7 years. Although each tanguero carefully constructs their character to show to the external world, when directly faced with the mask of the other, one inevitably projects their own internal conflicts and desires onto the other, like the impossibility of escaping one´s own shadow.
